My name is Dawn Headey, and I have proudly called Taranaki, New Zealand, home since 2006. Before moving from the United Kingdom, I spent 15 years working in HR and recruitment for a leading UK bank. After taking time out to raise my three sons, my family and I made the life-changing decision to immigrate to New Zealand, eventually settling in the beautiful Taranaki region on the west coast of the North Island.
My New Zealand experience has been both diverse and people-focused. I supported single parents returning to the workforce through a government employment initiative, worked as a qualified social worker, assisted students with learning difficulties in a local primary school, and delivered NZQA-accredited health and wellbeing programmes to senior secondary school students.
Working across these different roles gave me the opportunity to support people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. I later completed tertiary studies in social work and career coaching. Combined with my earlier experience in HR and recruitment, these experiences ultimately provided the foundation for establishing Coach2Success in 2015.
Over the years, I have built a business centred on helping people present themselves professionally and move forward with confidence. What I enjoy most is getting to know the person behind the CV and understanding the unique journey that has brought them to where they are today.
Outside of work, I enjoy painting (although I am no Van Gogh), spending time in nature, walking my dogs, cycling, and making the most of the outdoors that Taranaki has to offer. I also treasure the time I spend with my grandson.
Having spent many years living and working in New Zealand, I remain grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped both my personal and professional life.
Today, through Coach2Success, I work with both New Zealanders and overseas professionals, providing CV writing, LinkedIn profile optimisation, interview coaching, career coaching, and practical job search support.
